Would October just be the 10th month without the “fest”? We don’t think so. There’s so much going on after Oktoberfest winds down and before you don your Halloween costume. It's also the best time to get outdoors for peak leaf peeping conditions. With this in mind, we've selected a few amazing events happening near Tentrr sites.

Beer Fest

Two words. Dachshund Races. As part of SteelStacks’ Oktoberfest, you can try your hand at Stein Hoisting and Barrel Rolling, then head over to the arena to see the annual running of the wiener dogs. No seriously, release the dachshunds!

Film Fest

Imagine this. You. Cruising the countryside, taking in the blue skies and fall foliage and then, as evening drops, heading to a Halloween double feature at a drive-in, complete with movie themed cocktails.

The Greenville drive-in will be showing Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland on the weekend of Oct 12/13 to get your ghoul on. Naturally, we have some spooktacular Tentrr sites within a short drive, and friendly, leashed dogs are fine, as long as they don’t bark “at cars, people, the moon or at the movies”. Apparently if you come dressed as a zombie, you’ll get in free.

If you can't make it to Greenville, check out the Warwick drive-in – they've got Goosebumps 2 lined up - and find your Tentrr site here.

And Becky’s Drive-In in Lehigh Township, PA, are having their 6th annual Trunk-or-Treat and we have many great Tentrr sites nearby as well.

Train Fest

There are a host of train trips available to take during the fall – foliage trains, pumpkin trains, trick-or-treat trains, but there’s one that catches our eye. The Undead Speakeasy & Bootlegger Express aka the Haunted Halloween train sounds like a fun night out. It's run by the New Hope Railroad which also offers a more kid-friendly excursion as well as a fall foliage trip. Find a Tentrr site near New Hope Railroad.

If you're headed to the Catskills, check out Catskill Mountain Railroad's Fall Flyer and Pumpkin Express and explore Tentrr sites around Kingston, NY.

For those in western New Jersey, the Delaware River Railroad Excursions offer The Great Pumpkin Train, where kids can pick their own free pumpkins to take home, or best carved at a nearby Tentrr site around the campfire.
