2018 was a big year at Tentrr. We installed 300 sites, expanded all across the Northeast and finally set up on the West Coast. We also added new Backcountry sites in Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas and will add a bunch more in the coming year.

First and foremost, we recognize our CampKeepers. Without them, Tentrr is nothing, so we love it when they share their love of the land. This year we welcomed almost 300 new CampKeepers into our host family, and we are always looking for more. If you're interested in sharing your land and getting paid for it, click here.

We love seeing what our campers get up to, so our Instagram feed is great place to keep tabs on that. Here are some of our most liked:

We also had some influencers who camped and shared their Tentrr experience.

Activities was the name of the game this year. Our "Tour de Tentrr" bike ride saw a small group of riders tackle a 245-mile route from the Catskills to the Taconic Mountains and the Berkshires over three days.

We love exploring. That's why we collaborated with renowned mosaic artist Jim Bachor to install a series of three whimsical woodland creatures in the city streets. Fans were asked to find the artworks to stand a chance to win a camping trip to explore the great outdoors and possibly see some woodland creatures in real life.

Tentrr trips are about being surprised and delighted, so with this in mind we sent 150 New Yorkers on unmarked buses into the countryside – with the only instruction to "find the fireflies". This immersive experience was produced in partnership with MTG Experiences and Soho House, NYC. Watch our video recap below.

Who doesn't like looking at numbers in a new way? This year, in the Tentrrverse we saw:

  • 34,744 hours spent under the stars
  • 8,686 hours spent by the campfire
  • 52,116 hours not spent in air conditioning
  • 260,580 minutes of fresh air

And finally, we were invited to participate (behind the scenes) on a network TV show coming out next year. Here are some of our team members striking the set in the pouring rain.
