Half Hundred Acre Woods
This private and quiet property is an easy walk to a beaver pond with two lodges and two dams, and otters as well as important migratory birds including mating ospreys, great blue herons, and red-winged blackbirds. Enjoy freshwater and saltwater paddling, hiking trails, awesome restaurants, a ferry to Monhegan Island, and more!
Come early in the spring and you will hear the peepers. Visit us a little bit later in the spring and see snapping turtles revered by Native Americans that once lived and hunted in these woods. Visit us in the summer and enjoy all the beauty of true Midcoast Maine. Stay with us in the autumn and be prepared for amazing fall colors and truly some of the best weather.
You'll be in awe at the colonial era stone walls that define the property as well as a pretty cool stone bridge and dam over a small seasonal stream, one of several tributaries feeding the beaver pond.
Half Hundred Acre Woods offers quiet mornings rich days and starry evenings. This mature wooded site is hosted by Graham and his Portuguese Water Dog companion Coast. Both known for their good manners. ; )

I grew up not very far from this area as a summer kid from the year I was born in 1962 until 1976 and now for the past 5 years I've lived on this property and I continually am amazed at the beauty and serenity I find and I am proud with my pal Coast to share this very special place with special visitors sure to become special friends. My work for the local newspaper keeps me in contact with the great businesses and people that support this community. I know they will become your friends as well.
