Welcome to Tentrr Camping in the Virginia Mountains

If you love mountain camping, then you simply must visit the Virginia Mountain region. The Appalachian Mountains are unlike anything you may have seen before, and there are plenty of camping opportunities available for visitors.

There are a few places you can camp and glamp around the Virginia mountains. Daddy Rabbits Campground is a great place to rough it in a tent or bring an RV, with plenty of amenities like laundry facilities, propane hookups, and showering facilities. River Views Campground in Galax is perfect for glampers that wish to stay in rental cabins, though the campground offers tent camping as well.

Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Huddleston is a popular mountain park for camping. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, canoeing, and so many more fun watersports in the area. This state park is a great spot to camp if you love hiking, as there are thirteen beautiful hiking trails around the park. The views of the mountains are absolutely gorgeous, and there are twenty cottages available to rent. Tent camping is available, but the amenities in the cabins are unbeatable for glampers.

Things to Do in Virginia Mountains

In the Virginia Mountains, one of the top things to do is to drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This 469-mile parkway showcases unbelievable view of the Virginia’s mountains and start very close to Vaucluse Spring.

If driving around isn’t your thing, there are other options available. Visitors who enjoy hiking can take the moderately difficult Mill Mountain Start Trail to get to the Roanoke Star and Overlook, which is an iconic landmark of the Virginia mountains.

Places to Visit in Virginia Mountains

Wineries are popular in the Virginia mountains. We recommend checking out Chester Gap Cellars and Fox Meadow Vineyards for a tour, especially in the autumn. The former has really beautiful views, as it sits about 1,000 high in elevation.
