Welcome to Tentrr Camping in North Dakota

If you’re like many people, you don’t know much about North Dakota. It’s a little off the beaten path, with a small population and not really on the road to anywhere. But if you think that means it’s lacking in things to see and do, you’re in for a shock. Camping in North Dakota is anything but boring.

Try starting your North Dakota camping trip in the place where the idea for National Parks was born: Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Roosevelt was famous for his efforts to preserve the nation’s greatest natural treasures, and it’s no surprise that he lived in one of those treasures himself. The park is based around Elkhorn Ranch, Roosevelt’s North Dakota home. In the north you’ll find the North Dakota Badlands with multicolored layers of clay and silver sage, junipers, and wildflowers. In the south you’re going to find the Old West town of Medora, where you can watch musical theater outside on the grass, visit a hunting lodge where Roosevelt was once challenged to a duel, and even play a round of golf. And don’t forget the herds of bison. They’re everywhere!

And as long as you’re off the beaten path, why not go further off it? Take the Rendezvous Region Scenic Backway to see thick pine forests, beautiful overlooks, and wildlife a plenty. At Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area you can explore on horseback, on mountain bikes, on foot, or even on ATVs. Or if you’re adventurous enough to go camping in the winter, there’s snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

For birders, there are more than 75 species of birds in the gorge, and if you’re lucky you’ll catch a glimpse of a mountain lion, a bear, or a bobcat.

In North Dakota’s Icelandic State Park you can visit the restored Pioneer Heritage Center, including Akra Community Hall, and Hallson Church. Enjoy the exhibits showing what life was like during the homesteading years.

But you don’t need to homestead in North Dakota, you have Tentrr for camping in this magnificent, well-preserved state. It’s time to get camping in North Dakota and see what you’ve been missing.
