Camping at Nebraska State Parks

Nebraska organizes its parks into three classifications: State Parks, State Historical Parks, and State Recreation Areas but park visitors can unplug and reconnect with nature no matter which option they choose.

Visitors to State Parks can explore larger tracts of land with scenic or scientific significance. State Historical Parks are parks with historical significance to the State of Nebraska. Visitors to these parks can participate in living history demonstrations and explore buildings and grounds of note. State Recreation Areas are typically located alongside bodies of water and these parks are centered on active outdoor recreation pursuits like camping, swimming, boating, paddleboarding, and fishing.

Tentrr’s ready-to-go campsites are currently available to book at three Nebraska locations: Louisville State Recreation Area just outside of Omaha, Ponca State Park on the banks of the Missouri River and Sherman Recreation Area in central Nebraska.

Spacious canvas safari tents come with a comfortable bed for a good night’s sleep, Adirondack chairs for optimal stargazing and a fire pit to keep you warm (don't forget to bring marshmallows). Tentrr is a better way to camp.

Tentrr sites in Nebraska are a great camping option for couples, families and groups like outdoor clubs. Most of our campsites are also pet-friendly, so bring your pup along! In addition to the platform tent, each site is equipped with one pop-up tent for additional campers. Parents with young children will find the main safari tent is roomy enough to fit a pack ‘n play or even a twin air mattress next to the tent bed.

Campers bring their own bedding, dishes, flashlights, and firewood to the Tentrr site. Specific campsite parking details are provided once the reservation is booked.
