Lake Taghkanic State Park Camping and More

In Lake Taghkanic State Park campsites, there's always something to see or do. There's the boat shop, where you can rent boats, paddleboats and kayaks, as well as receive helpful instruction that you'll need for your time out on the water. Then there's also the various playgrounds and communal areas that are situated across both sides of the lake.

If you get hungry, you don't have to return to your tent to fire up a meal -- you can buy snacks and other foods at the snack shop, and the campground store has camping supplies if you run out of firewood, ice or another much-needed item. If you have a car with you, the best part is that you can easily drive to other nearby state parks such as Taconic State Park, the Olana State Historic Site and the Clermont State Historic Site.
