Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park adjoins Ogden Mills and Ruth Livingston Mills Memorial State Park and together, comprise more than one thousand acres. Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park offers a full menu of exhilarating recreational opportunities and activities for visitors of all ages. The numerous trails that thread through the grounds of both Mills and Norrie State Parks are ideal for walking, jogging, hiking, cycling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Treating visitors to fabulous views of the Hudson River which runs directly along the park’s western boundaries. This campsite is located within walking distance of the Hudson River. Just a 10 minute drive to Hyde Park, the Roosevelt's hometown, as well as the Vanderbilt and Staatsburg estates, which offer a plethora of scenic views. The city of Poughkeepsie is also only a short drive and offers a robust array of dining options and day trips.
Be sure to bring your own food, firewood, and bedding. There is no electricity available at your Tentrr site. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping. All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee. Please make sue you check for ticks, especially on children and pets and beware that there are rattlesnakes, bears and other forest dwellers in this area. They are important members of the natural community, so we ask that you give them distance and respect for the safety of all. Have a wonderful stay!
