Located on the south bank of the Platte River, Louisville State Recreation Area is approximately a 30-minute drive from Omaha. Encompassing 192 acres, Louisville SRA boasts five lakes and a large floating playground. Campers at this park can fully embrace lake life with seasonal kayak, paddle board, and water bike rentals. Swim, fish and boat during your camping stay; anglers will find bass, catfish, bluegill and crappie in the sandpit lakes. The parks popular floating playground features exciting obstacles including a climbing wall, monkey bars and dome. This seasonal attraction requires a separate ticket which can be purchased on site. This park also features a 1.1 walking loop. Riverview D is located approximately 1 mile from the park entrance and has a view of the Platte River. Your partially shaded campsite is about a 2-minute hike in from the parking spot. The site features a spacious 10 x 12 platform tent with a queen bed as well as a pop-up tent that can accommodate 4 additional campers. A picnic table, firepit and two Adirondack chairs are also included. There is a Tentrr Loo (camping potty) at your campsite for convenience. Campers will also be able to access modern bathhouses for showers and restrooms at the park but these facilities are some distance from the tent. And, if the temperature dips, you can keep warm with the propane heater inside the main platform tent. If youre looking to camp with another couple, family or group consider booking Riverview C and Riverview D.
Check-in is at 3 pm and campers must also purchase a Nebraska Park Permit online at https://ngpc-home.ne.gov for the duration of their stay (or use an existing annual park permit). Park permits must be affixed (taped) to the lower left corner of the windshield with the permit facing out to be valid. Water playground tickets cost $18 for a 90-minute session and are sold on a first-come-first serve basis. Tickets for children ages 6+ are sold for 3 timeslots: 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm. Trash must be thrown away in the designated dumpster at the end of your stay. Beds in the canvas tents have memory foam mattresses but be sure to bring your own bedding, food, and firewood. Pop-up tent comes packed. No running water at this site but a 5-gallon water jug is provided. Please note that there are train lines in the area and you will hear trains at night. Anything you pack in, you must pack out. Pets are allowed. All sites are inspected for damages and cleanliness after each use and before the next renter. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in a minimum cleaning fee of $50
