Magical, quiet campsite, only a short walk ( less than 1/4 mile) ) from easy access parking. Glacial rock to one direction, seasonal spring stream to another. Hiking trails right from the site to Perry's peak, Taconic ridge trail, shorter scenic local trails, most very well established. This site is a short drive from many of the finest things the Berkshires has to offer including various hiking trails, lakes, and streams for kayaking and canoeing, mountain and road biking, and horseback riding. There are lots of wonderful local restaurants, My favorites are : Haven Cafe ( Breakfast/ Brunch /Lunch) Lenox, MA, Bizen (Organic, Sushi Bar, Japanese) in Great Barrington. Less than a 10 minute drive from our site is Backwater Grille, Smokey Sweet BBQ, and Anna's Pizza Restaurant. There are two local apple orchards less than a 5 minute drive away, Bartlett's which has a year round farm store, and Hilltop Orchards Home of Furnace Brook Winery both with U- pick apples. Balderdash Cellars is fun and less than 3 miles up road from my driveway. They have tasting, some food and spacious outdoor seating with fabulous lake views. Cultural attractions include: Tanglewood Outdoor Summer Music Festival, several Berkshire theater organizations, Jacob's Pillow summer dance venue. Clark Museum in Williamstown, Norman Rockwell in Stockbridge, and the Mass MOCA in North Adams. Please note: wood stove available in fall.
