A caravan site or holiday park is a place where people can come to stay in caravans or motorhomes. Many caravan sites are located in beautiful areas, such as near the coast or in the countryside. Some people own their own caravan or motorhome and others rent them for their holidays.
Caravan sites usually have a reception area where you can check in and out, and they often have facilities such as a shop, a restaurant, a swimming pool and a children's play area. Some sites are very large and can cater for hundreds of guests, while others are much smaller and more intimate.
When you arrive at a caravan site, you will usually be given a pitch number where you should park your vehicle. Some pitches are on grass, while others are on hard standings (a firm surface such as concrete). You will then need to connect your vehicle to the electrical supply and water supply.
Once you have settled into your pitch, you can start exploring the local area. If you are staying near the coast, you might want to go for walks along the beach or take part in water sports such as swimming, surfing or sailing. Inland, you could go for hikes in the countryside or visit local towns and villages.
Caravanning is a great way to spend your holidays if you enjoy being outdoors and exploring new places. It is also relatively inexpensive compared to other forms of holiday accommodation.
