Georgia offers many opportunities for great camping experiences, whether you are looking for an RV site with all the amenities or something more primitive. Here are some of the best places to camp in Georgia.

Fort Mountain State Park

Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in northwestern Georgia. The park offers many activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping. There are three different campgrounds to choose from at Fort Mountain State Park.

The first is the family campground which has 50 sites. This area is open year-round and reservations can be made up to six months in advance. The second campground is the group campground which has 10 sites. This area is open from mid-March through mid-November and reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

The last campground is the backcountry camping area which has 14 sites. This area is open from mid-March through mid-November and reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Permits are required for all backcountry camping.

Black Rock Mountain State Park

Black Rock Mountain State Park is located in northeastern Georgia and is known for its spectacular views. The park offers many activities such as hiking, biking, picnicking, and camping. There are four different campgrounds to choose from at Black Rock Mountain State Park.

The first is the family campground which has 31 sites. This area is open year-round and reservations can be made up to six months in advance. The second campground is the group campground which has 12 sites. This area is open from mid-March through mid-November and reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

The third campground is the backcountry camping area which has 14 sites. This area is open from mid-March through mid-November and reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Permits are required for all backcountry camping.

The last campground is the overflow campsites which have 10 sites. This area is only open when the other three campgrounds are full and reservations can not be made in advance.
